My Favorite Whine

I wanna go tooooo! My husband will be leaving for a tropical paradise soon on a "business" trip. I say "business" because I am sure than no one in said tropical paradise ever conducts business (monkey business maybe, but real, legit business?) It's just too hot and lush and tropical and fun to do anything but nothing. My son and I could go but it would be a logistical nightmare. We have had, the two of us, and the three of us, many wonderful tropical holidays. And we will again. I am always content with the sun and the sea and a book. The only redemption in this trip (for me, that is, and well that's what this is about) is that upon leaving Eden he has to spend a week in Hagerstown, Maryland doing the same thing all over again. That can't be a fun place to visit. It will probably be miserably cold and gray. This trip will motivate me to concoct a new adventure or two for all of us. I have already been in touch with my contact deep in Mexico and the most delightful, Diane Eddy, who manages cottage rentals on the grounds of Balmoral Castle in northern Scotland. Her Royal Highness will be there, dontcha know! Oh to catch a glimpse of Wills! Bonus: They have ponies! Oh how I love a country packed with ponies!

I would much rather be home than off on this stupid trip. I hate being away from you and the boy for so long. I get a sick feeling just thinking about it...

Well, I didn't do ANYTHING fun in Jamaica 'mawn'. Work work and more work. Up at 6 to eat breakfast and be at work by 8. Leave work at 7 to go eat and get back to the hotel by 8:30 or 9. Do a little more work and go to bed so I could get up at 6 to be at work. Oh, what joy! Traffic was especially sucky.

Hagerstown was a brief respite compared to Jamaica. It was sunny every day except the early morning I left when it was snowing like hell!

I missed you Patti. I think it would have been fun had you been there.
